Maple Laughs Claim Dominic Moore off Waivers
All I can think of when I look at this move is “why?” Is there any point to this move what so ever? Does the team really think that a guy who was cast away from the Wild, having scored three points in 30 games, is going to have any kind of effect to help the team climb out of the huge hole they’ve fallen into? Dominc Moore? Who? Here’s who, a 27 year old centre whos’ career high season in points was 18 in 82 games with the Rangers in 05-06.
Moore will undoubtedly become one of the handfull of players that the Leafs move up and down between the big club and the Marlies, seemingly at random, just hoping to God that something will work one of these times. Moore also becomes the latest player to be picked up by the Leafs for no apparent reason other than to be able to say “well, we’re making moves!”. Moore will join the likes of Travis Green, Luke Richardson, Yannick Perrault and more in the ranks of the “WTF?” hall of fame.
On another note, the Leafs also called up Justin Pogge, likely to be the go to man in case Toskala’s groin doesn’t hold up in the upcoming game against San Jose. While Toskala will hopefully be able to stay healthy, as sadly he’s the best goalie the Leafs have, it would be interesting to see Pogge get a shot. Why not right? Give the kid some play. It’s not like it’ll be putting the Leafs’ play off drive at risk. As long as they don’t start playing Pogge regularly, there’s no harm in letting him see some rubber in the bigs. Overall though he’s not ready and definitely needs to at least finish out this season in the AHL. Pogge is by far the best thing the Leafs have got going for their future, assuming they handle his development well that is.
Hopefully him and Dominc Moore get a chance to chat a bit in San Jose, because I’m sure they’ll be seeing each other again when Moore is inevitably sent down to the Marlies. What a useless pickup. But hey, at least they’re doing something! Right?
Stumble it!

This move really pissed me off!..Why grab a loser from the Wild and give him ice time..when they could have brought up a kid from the Marlies and given him some experience. This kind of move is very counter productive in that it gives the kids on the farm the message that no matter how well you are progressing you have no chance of being given a shot in the pros.
Another excellent move guys ,lets keep being the bus boys of the N.H.L. and clearing away other teams trash!!!
